Thirty-nine or "Sequins on Stilts"

My work's Christmas party took place last week and despite having a stinking cold I determinedly dragged myself along, intent on having my fill of free booze, canapes and a good old booty shake on the dancefloor. I succeeded and had a great time, even discovering this approach is a viable cure for the common cold - I should publish a paper on it and accept the Nobel Peace Prize (or whatever) immediately.

Back to a less lofty topic: my outfit. You may have seen a previous post I did (here) about a dress I won, courtesy of Krisp. I had chosen this dress specifically with the Christmas party in mind... however a week before the auspicious occasion, an email went out telling us there were several travel-related fancy dress themes we could choose from, for those who just did not know what to wear. Suggested themes included: the Wild West (no), famous explorers (god no), Chicago gangsters & molls (hmm, maybe) and eskimos (gah!). I duly ignored them all 'cos I already had my dress.. if Las Vegas was a country and had a national costume, it would be sequined, right??  Here it is again, as per last Thursday:

Jo wondered if she was a little overdressed for the office
I styled it a little differently to last time: the dress is super short and lifting my arms any higher than my waist seriously compromises my modesty... meaning the majority of my dance moves would be rendered unachievable! I couldn't possibly deny my colleagues the experience of witnessing my moves like Jagger, so I chucked on my shiny leggings, instead of tights, to spare my blushes. My colleagues will thank me one day.

I also debuted some new Missguided boots that conveniently arrived the same day: toweringly high Chelsea boots. I put them on and was elevated a good six inches higher (the air was thinner up there, I swear). Despite the vertiginous footwear, I only had one near miss where I almost fell off the heels. Happily someone caught me BEFORE I faceplanted on the dancefloor: phew!

I have to apologise here for the overall quality of these photos: pretty much all of them came out either incredibly blurred or badly-lit; there really is no substitute for daylight AND a sober photographer. I didn't have either at my disposal at 7pm last Thursday thanks to lots of mulled wine and prosecco having been consumed. Let's take a look at just how bad some of the others were, ladies and gentlemen I present to you the view through TIPSY CAM!
