A Lesson Learned

Ever have those days when the elements are just totally against you? Yep, that's what happened on Thursday. And I was so well prepared for the photo! I'd prettied up my hair, touched up my make up, adjusted and smoothed down the outfit so it would look it's absolute best, then stepped outside ready for my close up... only for the wind to gust round so dramatically that the shoot had to come to a swift and dramatic end when Valérie (photographer of the day) and I realised that we just couldn't take it anymore - hair is not supposed to be horizontal! Back indoors we went. Sigh. So sorry. We really did try.

So what was I wearing for this frustrating turn of events? Actually something which in hindsight looked a bit like a school uniform... rather apt for learning a valuable lesson: the art of knowing when to retreat. It features two items that I've had for YONKS (school-speak, haha) and my sparkly metallic jumper that I got just before Christmas. I've cobbled together a selection of the photos that we did manage to take, both indoors and out:

The Good:

The Bad:

The Downright Fugly:

So there we have it. Sometimes we just have to listen to what Mother Nature is telling us, in this case: get the heck off the terrace! I shall try to pick the location of my next photo session more wisely... or at least the timing of it.

If you want a better look at the print of the skirt (cute ditsy flowers!) and the shirt (My Little Ponies!), take a look at these previous posts as they've featured before (here and here respectively).

Ooh, before I go, I want to tell you about a new weekly feature that I'll be starting from tomorrow: Manicure Monday. I bet you'll NEVER guess what that's about!

My Outfit:
Jumper: H&M (not on website, soz)
Shirt & Boots: Primark (old)
Skirt: Forever 21 (old)
Rings: Topshop (probably still in shops)
Bracelet: Accessorize (probably still in shops)

P.S. I couldn't find any links to any of today's items I'm afraid. I spent ages looking to no avail, so just put the links to the store sites instead. Probably better to pound the pavement or trawl eBay if you're really hankering after something... good luck!
