All About Me

Hey, I'm Jo. What can I say that shouldn't be apparent already? I LOVE CLOTHES. An addiction / obsession / habit / whatever you want to call it, that's what I have. But I have a problem... at 5'1" (155cm) I'm what you could call 'petite' or 'vertically challenged'... in other words: I'M SHORT.

If you're not short, then you may not have realised how difficult this can make clothes-buying: the lengths, the fit on the shoulders, the waist, all of these have an impact on us little folk. Some stores have great on trend, but limited, Petite ranges, I'm talking about you, Topshop and Miss Selfridge. On the most part though I shop in the normal ranges in stores and either get items adjusted to fit or just make them work.

I find it hard to pigeon-hole my style. I'm at heart a tomboy and a rock chick, is this a paradox? I like to take note of current trends and add my own indie-style quirks. I'm a magpie for animal prints and fake fur (never real, no no NO) and have an overwhelming amount of black in my wardrobe... when in doubt go back to black.

Style influences, basically anyone a bit quirky and cool: Alexa Chung, Fearne Cotton, Daisy Lowe, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Osbourne (short), Dita Von Teese...amongst others.  All these ladies have enviable, covetable wardrobes. The late, great Amy Winehouse (short) is an enduring influence, particularly in the make-up stakes, I rarely leave home without my eyeliner flicks and regularly backcomb some height into my hair for a night out.

So why did I start this blog? Whilst I admire the style of those in the public eye, my biggest influence is street style: those girls I see, strangers, walking around London everyday looking so goddamn cool it makes me want to run up to them and demand to know IMMEDIATELY where they got that dress, who's their coat by, where did they find those boots? I'm sometimes asked this myself by other strangers, so a blog seemed like the perfect outlet for me to share my choice items and, more importantly, find out where other people get their outfits from.  So come on, I've shown you mine, now you show me yours! (Especially if you're short too).
